Summary0001386: Project specific extensions cannot be opened within the IDE
DescriptionProject specific extensions (stored in .materials) do not seem to be openable from within the IDE. I can open them with an external editor, but then I lose the syntax colouring.

What I would expect is that they'd appear in the menu list of extensions.

(I'm not sure if this should be classified as a bug, but it doesn't seem like it was the behaviour as advertised so here it is...)

This behaviour is indeed very annoying. I kind of got around it by making hard links on my HD using mklink, but that's far from ideal.

Confirmed. The Mac IDE has the same issue.

(If the decision is to list project-specific extensions in the "Open Extension..." menu list, we should clone this into a Mac IDE bug.)

Alternative: the extension page in the IDE (which shows the extension documentation) could have a header link for "Open extension in an IDE window".

This problem still occurs in the 7.9.3 (build 6M62) release for both Windows and Mac.
