    To sprout the seed:
        Increase DiceLock by a random number between 0 and 9;
        Increase DiceLock by a random number between 0 and 9;
        Increase DiceLock by a random number between 1 and 9; [all zeroes would be Bad]

    Yeah, I know. But I tested close to a dozen alternate "sprouts," including some based on Turn Count, some based on funky math (remainders after dividing), and of course simple stuff like simply raising by 1 ... anyway, maybe your tests will lead you somewhere more elegant than mine did :)
