  • Section: A Note on Frame Rates and Performance

While Simple Graphical Window strives to produce the absolute frame rate defined by the author, the actual frame rate of an animation will depend on many factors, including the size of the images, the processing power of the computer, the interpreter's handling of images, and so on. You will probably want to test actual performance on different interpreters and platforms to verify performance. As of January 2009, the extension has been tested with Zoom and Spatterlight on OS X, and on Git and Windows Glulxe on Windows. Zoom and Git seem to perform best, with Windows Glulxe a close second, and Spatterlight rather slower.
