Every turn when the control-window is g-present:

A UI-element is a kind of sprite. The graphlink status is usually g-active. The linked replacement-command is usually "". The associated canvas of a UI-element is the control-canvas.
A UI-element has a figure name called the active-state.
A UI-element has a figure name called the inactive-state.
