Parser highlighting is a truth state that varies. Parser highlighting is usually false.

To say as the parser:
    now we-are-parser-speaking is true;
    set the text style for the style of parser-word.
    
To say as normal:
    now we-are-parser-speaking is false;
    reset styles with the style of parser-word.
